Senators top Tigers in JV baseball tourney
Josh Ingram pitched 4.1 innings of two-hit ball while Josh Buchan doubled and tripled on Tuesday to help the Carson Senators JV baseball team post a 6-2 victory against Douglas during Bishop Manogue’s Miner Spring Break Tournament.
Elijah Lyons hit 1-for-2 with one RBI, Jonathan Antti was 1-for-3 and Caden Hultberg went 1-for-2 for Douglas. Antti hit a triple to right field to lead off the game and scored on Camden Brown’s sacrifice fly as the Tigers took an early 1-0 lead.
Elijah Lyons pitched four innings, allowed five runs (one earned) on three hits for Douglas. Carson scored one run to break a 1-1 tie in the third inning followed by a three-run rally in the fourth.
The Tigers also dropped a 6-5 decision to tournament host Manogue on Wednesday. Douglas scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the score, only to see Manogue win with one run the bottom half of the inning.
The Tigers converted three walks into three runs, aided by Lyons’ RBI single, in the seventh.
