Scootercross championships enjoy successful weekend
September 7, 2004
The 12th annual Scootercross National Finals were hosted at Patmont Motor Works on Meridian Boulevard over the weekend.
Teams and Individuals came from all over the United States to compete in the International Scootercross Association National Tour’s season finale.
The world finals will be held in Las Vegas in October.
Competitors this weekend weaved around a red, white and blue cone-marked course in a variety of events, and ability and age classifications.
A non-motorized race for beginners around the age of three was conducted, and a number of motorized modified, open class and quad classifications raced as well.
Beginners were allowed to compete with scooters provided by the ISA. Some of the more experienced racers had to navigate a more difficult course that included up to three jumps across gaps of more than eight feet.
