Wolves fall 38-8 at Pyramid Lake
Quarterback Andrew Robles and wide receiver Ignacio Estrada-Cota combined to provide a spark on offense, it just wasn’t enough for the Coleville High football team in its 38-8 8-man football defeat against Pyramid Lake on Friday night in Nixon.
Estrada-Cota, a 5-foot-8, 131-pound junior, had six receptions for 111 yards and a second quarter touchdown from Robles for Coleville (0-5 overall, 0-3 Western Division IV). And Robles, a 5-6, 140-pound sophomore, logged career-high passing totals of 10-for-25 for 156 yards.
Eric Hubbard rushed for 74 yards on 14 carries, Ryan Staats added 23 yards on three carries and Omar Saldivar caught three passes for 40 yards.
Hubbard led the Wolves defensively with 17 tackles (five solo, 12 assists), while Saldivar had 15 (five solo, 10 assists), Estrada-Cota 15 (five solo, 10 assists) and Staats 13 (three solo, 10 assists).
Pyramid Lake (5-1, 2-1) was led by senior Brandon O’Daye with 229 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries. Quarterback A.J. Wasson also rushed for 120 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries.
