Trivitt, Isham help boost Tigers to win
Kindel Isham and Spencer Trivitt enjoyed a successful debut with the Douglas High boys tennis program Tuesday when they combined to win three straight doubles sets and help the Tigers to a 15-3 victory at home against North Valleys.
Isham and Trivitt, seniors who play baseball at Douglas (Trivitt at catcher and Isham at second base), won their sets 6-2, 6-1 and 6-2.
Senior Dylan Berke won all three of his No. 1 singles sets, twice by 6-1 scores and another 6-0, while Josh Brown won his No. 2 singles set 6-0.
Junior Range Chapman and sophomore Andrew Collins combined to win both of their sets, 6-3 and 6-4.
Senior Jarod Pieller took a 6-2 win from Horton Hunter, North Valleys’ No. 1 player, while senior Jake Rouse and freshman Mack Porras picked up wins.
Freshman Zach Unger turned in a solid performance in his 6-4 singles loss against Hunter.
Sophomores Samuel Brown and Chase Jackson combined to win two doubles sets by 6-0 scores. Bryce Unger and Teegan Valenzuela, both sophomores, also picked up a 6-3 win in their only set.
