Tigers’ boys soccer team tops Miners
Two goals in the final 15 minutes lifted the Douglas High boys soccer team to a 2-1 win over Bishop Manogue Friday in Reno.
Douglas (7-4-3, 3-4-2) rallied as Koby Hinnant scored the equalizer and then Alejandro Sanz, an exchange student from Spain, scored the game-winner for Douglas when his shot deflected off of a defender into the goal.
Manogue (2-12, 1-6) scored on penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead.
Edgar Hernandez also played well defensively for the Tigers, coach Milko Vasquez noted.
The Tigers host Damonte Ranch in an important Sierra League contest this afternoon and then visit arch rival Carson for a 7 p.m. game on Friday.
