Tigers blanked by Bishop Manogue

A nine-run third-inning rally put Bishop Manogue in control on its way to an 11-0 Northern Division I conference baseball victory Saturday against Douglas in Reno.
Michael Davis pitched a complete game three-hitter to pick up the win for Manogue (3-3 league, 3-5 overall) in a game stopped after five innings due to the 10-run rule.
Douglas (2-4 league, 3-8 overall) was coming off a 3-2 walk-off win in eight innings against the Miners on Thursday.
Davis, a junior, finished with five strikeouts and no walks over five innings.
Anthony Galati hit 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI while Luke Smith went 2-for-2 with three RBI and Shane Andrews 2-for-2 with one RBI to lead Manogue offensively. Gavin Bullis also hit 2-for-3 with two runs scored as the Miners collected 12 hits overall in the game.
Haden Keller, Spencer Trivitt and Tomas Leitenbauer accounted for the Tigers' three hits.

Douglas plays today and Thursday at the 57th annual Fran Oneto/Atwater-Winton Lions Easter Tournament in Atwater, Calif. The Tigers lost 2-1 to Saint Joseph Notre Dame (Alameda, Calif.) on Monday and came back on Tuesday to post a 9-1 victory against Redwood Christian (San Lorenzo, Calif.).
