The Douglas High volleyball aced its season opener Tuesday with a 3-0 win at home against Truckee.

Douglas (2-0) rang up 11 service aces en route to winning the non-league match 25-21, 25-21, 25-9. The Tigers also had 12 aces Wednesday in their 3-0 triumph at Yerington.

Freshman Anna Bertolone and senior Taryn Allmett delivered four aces each and Bertolone finished with 14 points for the Tigers, who finished the night with a 95.7 serving percentage overall.

Six players contributed kills, led by Talyn Jackson with 10. Jackson handed out 20 assists and Madison Rozier 11. Raychel Allen led the defense with 12 digs.

Douglas balance Wednesday when eight players contributed kills at Yerington. The Tigers won 25-13, 25-14, 25-16. Isabelle Peterson delivered 17 kills and Hailey Hughes 12. Allen had 19 digs and Rozier 12.


Douglas defeated Truckee by scores of 27-25, 25-19. Jolee Godde had two kills and Olivia Johnson two aces. Marlies Wendler, Olivia Johnson and Meagan Leberth combined for 10 digs.

The Tigers defeated Yerington, 25-16, 25-22, led by Lexi Gunnell’s five aces and 10 assists.
