Team effort boosts Douglas volleyball to win against Hawks

Nine players contributed kills and six players combined for 17 aces to pace a balanced attack Tuesday night when the Douglas High volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory at home against Hug.

Douglas (4-1 league, 14-2 overall) won 25-3, 25-4, 25-7 against the Hawks (0-10).

Isabelle Peterson had eight kills and Talyn Jackson had seven aces for the Tigers. Jackson finished the night with 13 points to go with 17 assists.

Sierra Franklin collected a team-high 14 points, while Hailey Hughes had 12. Franklin added four aces. Douglas finished the match with a 94.5 serving percentage.

Hannah Kyle also delivered five kills for the Tigers.

Raychel Allen led the defense with nine digs.


Douglas defeated Hug in Douglas in two straight games, 25-4, 25-13.

Caitlyn Costa had five aces and Olivia Johnson four for Douglas. Eight hitters had kills, led by Isabella Tomassi with three, while Rebekah Swearingen and Jolee Godde had two each.


Douglas took two straight sets from Hug, 25-7, 25-19.
