The Douglas High swim teams dominated dual meets against Spanish Springs Saturday at the Carson Valley Swim Center, with the Tiger girls beating the Cougars 192-94 and the Tiger boys winning 180-98.

For the girls, it was Douglas’ 43rd consecutive dual meet win, dating back to 2006. The boys won their 29th straight dual meet.

Douglas also swept first place in all six relays in the overall four-way meet that included Damonte Ranch and Sparks High School as well. Shaelin Morefield, Shelby Koontz and Janosch Lancaster each won first place in multiple events.

Morefield won the 200 IM (2:22.52) and the 100 free (59.06), Koontz won the 100 fly (1:00.31) and the 100 backstroke (1:02.38) and Lancaster won the 200 IM (2:11.01) and the 500 free (5:46.01).

Other individual event winners included Kyle Johnston (200 free, 1:55.02), Kevin Smithen (100 fly, 1:02.20), Erica Chappell (500 free, 5:51.25) and Adam Dack (100 back, 1:04.31).

Meagan Skilling, Clara Gray, Emma Gray and Chappell won the girls 200 medley relay (2:05.46) and Dack, Ryan Chen, Johnston and Smithen won the boys 200 medley relay (1:53.63).

Koontz, Skilling, Jordan Knowles and Morefield won the girls 200 freerelay (1:47.39) and Lancster, Andy Esparza, Robbie Resnik and Johnston won the boys 200 free relay (1:41.38).

Chappell, Koontz, Brittany Ritchie and Knowles won the 400 free girls relay (4:02.45) and Dack, Smithen, Lancaster and Jake VanBeuge won the boys 400 free relay (3:57.63).

Also for Douglas, Savannah Chappell finished second in the 200 free (2:08.51), while Emma Gray was fourth and Rachel Chen was fifth.

Skilling took second in the 200 IM, Jordan Knowles took fourth and Rocio Meza took fifth.

Erica Chappell was third in the 50 free (27.45). Savannah Chappell finished third in the 100 fly and Whitney Weaver finished fifth. Jordan Chappell was fifth in the 100 free.

Skilling finished third in the 500 free, followed by Weaver in fourth.

Clara Gray, Knowles, Stephanie Williams, Courtney McKimmey and Audrey Muller swept second through fifth in the 100 breaststroke.

On the boys’ side, Logan Killion was second in the 200 free and Justin Harmon was fourth. Dack was third in the 200 IM and Killion was fifth.

Eric Jacobs was second in the 50 free, Zack Singer was third and Resnik was fourth. Ryan Chen finished third in the 100 fly.

Singer finished third in the 100 free, and Jarret Preston finished fourth.

Esparza, Chen and Jason Lowther went second, third and fourth respectively.

Smithen was second and Jake VanBeuge was fifth in the 100 back.

Johnston was second, Eric Jacobs was fourth and Garrett Seward was fifth in the 100 breaststroke.
