Douglas High’s Haden Keller, Haydn Brown and Spencer Trivitt played for the Junior Grey squad during the Junior Showcase baseball game on June 5 at Peccole Park in Reno.

The White edged the Grey, 6-5, in a game that featured top high school juniors from around Northern Nevada. A Senior Game was also played on the University of Nevada field. The games were hosted by the Northern Nevada Baseball Coaches Association.

The Grey team consisted of players from Douglas, Bishop Manogue, Spanish Springs, Wooster, McQueen and North Valleys, the White Squad consisted of players from Carson High, Reno, Reed, Damonte, Galena and Hug.

Trivitt hit 1-for-1 with a walk and played well behind the plate, highlighted when he threw out Reno High’s Christian Chamberlain in the only attempted steal against him.

Brown also sparkled defensively at first base, including numerous pickups out of the dirt, while Keller made some nice catches in the outfield.

Mark Walling of Douglas was one of the coaches for the Grey squad.
