Douglas summer conditioning under way
Voluntary summer conditioning workouts are now under way as a number of Douglas High School teams prepare for the start of their regular season schedules in August.
Douglas girls tennis coach Dan Hannah is directing sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. through July 18 at the high school tennis courts. The Tigers will meet on Monday, Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. from July 19-31.
Off-season conditioning permits, including photocopies of medical insurance cards, are required to participate.
The Tigers return the majority of a team that finished as the Northern Division I region and state tournament runner-up in 2014.
Meanwhile, the Douglas cross country boys and girls are meeting for workouts on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays starting at 8 a.m.
Douglas is the two-time defending Northern Division I Region champion. The Tigers’ boys took second-place at the region meet in 2014.
Runners may contact coach Jay Frey at firstname.lastname@example.org for information.
Douglas girls soccer coach Werner Christen began conditioning on Monday for prospective varsity and junior varsity players. Conditioning sessions are being held on Monday and Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. on the Carson Valley Middle School soccer field. The sessions will continue until the Douglas girls and boys alumni games on Aug. 10.
The Tigers posted a 24-1 record and won the region tournament title in 2014.
