Douglas High senior Tara Cottril finished 12th individually and the Tigers' took fifth-place in the girls team standings Monday during a Tahoe Basin Ski League slalom race on World Cup Run at Heavenly Mountain Resort.

Top 10 finishes by Danner Hillman, Sean Dunkelman and Bryan Harris helped the Douglas High boys alpine team capture second-place Monday during a Tahoe Basin Ski League slalom at Heavenly Mountain Resort.

The Tigers scored 184 points, only 16 points behind South Tahoe in the boys team standings, and Whittell was a close third with 180. Douglas finished third in the combined team standings with 325 points, behind only South Tahoe’s 381 and North Tahoe’s 360.

Hillman placed eighth with a time of 54.1 for two runs to lead Douglas during the race on Heavenly’s World Cup Run. The junior posted the fourth fastest time for the second run, a 23.95-second effort.

Dunkelman was close behind in ninth-place and Harris 10th for the Tigers. Zachary Ingrey finished 17th, Sloane Niccoli 22nd, Carson Shaw 23rd and Owen Elmquist 30th to contribute team points.

Whittell’s Payton Norton won the race with a 50.0 clocking.

In the girls race, Tara Cottrill placed 12th individually and the Tigers finished fifth as a team with 141 points. Emily Hillman also finished 20th, Mary Weyland 23rd, Peri Buck 32nd, Maya Smith 34th and Annalisa Neal 35th for Douglas.
