The Douglas High boys basketball team will be looking to remain perfect in league play tonight when it hosts Reed.

A 7 p.m. tipoff is scheduled for the Northern Division I cross-over contest at Randy Green Court. The Tigers also travel to Reno High Saturday to play a 1:30 p.m. league game.

For Douglas (2-0 league, 3-5 overall), tonight is a rematch game after knocking off Reed 50-46 on Dec. 5 at the Wild West Shootout in Reno.

Reed (6-3 overall, 1-0 league), which opened its league season Thursday with a 68-57 win at Damonte Ranch, has won five of its last six games.

The Raiders are led by senior point guard Jamel Ramos, a fourth-year varsity veteran who is averaging 17.7 points per game, highlighted by a season-high 25 against Douglas. Ramos was a first-team all-region player last season.

The Tigers used a balanced attack in their previous win against Reed, as Alex Tessmann and Sam Broersma scored nine points each, while Jace Hart and Connor Lyons added eight.

Reno (1-0 league, 3-6 overall) graduated its top four scorers from a team that qualified for last season’s state tournament last season. The Huskies are now led by 6-foot 9 Jouvon Edison and 6-7 Cooper Krug.
