Carson Valley All Stars make finals
With two games left between the Carson Valley Little League 11-12 All Stars and the District 1 championship, Coach Teddy Foster said he felt the team was in a good position.
With a loss to South Lake Tahoe earlier in the tournament, it has been do or die for the 11 and 12 years olds, and they’ve been doing.
“What an amazing three weeks we’ve had,” Foster said. “This team has answered all the challenges we’ve put in front of them.”
Foster said he and his staff have prepared for these last two games.
“We spent a lot of time getting the kids in the right position,” he said. “We are in a position for them to see our best pitchers. We set ourselves up pitchingwise to be exactly where we want to be.”
Carson Valley is facing a Reno National team that has yet to be defeated in the tournament. One loss for the Carson Valley boys would give Reno the tournament championship.
Pitching for the team on Tuesday was Tristan Futch. Because the game was at 7:30 p.m., results weren’t available by press time.
The team had a three-game winning streak after losing to South Lake Tahoe.
On Friday, they defeated Washoe, 9-3. Then they defeated Reno American 13-12 on Saturday, and came back on Sunday to defeat South Tahoe, 4-2.
