After winning seven straight games to open its season, the Douglas High girls basketball team is going to be tested this weekend.

Douglas (2-0 league, 7-0) hosts Reed today at 5:15 p.m. then faces two-time defending Division I state champion Reno at 11:45 a.m. Saturday.

Douglas is coming off wins last week against McQueen, 59-41, and South Tahoe, 46-23. These next two games, however, are going to be a different story.

Reed (1-1 league, 2-2 overall) only lost four games last season, although one of those came at home in December 2013 by a 58-53 score against Douglas. Leonna Mortimore scored 22 points and Corryne Millett 16 to lead the Tigers in that game and both are still in the starting lineup.

Reed has a young roster led by 6-foot senior post player Nakiyah LeSure along with a quick supporting cast. LeSure is averaging 21.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.

Reno (30-1 last season) is currently 6-0 and features 6-foot-4 junior Mallory McGwire, who is averaging 23.0 points per game.
