Pop Warner teams set for postseason

Four Douglas Pop Warner teams have qualified for postseason play starting this weekend.

The Douglas Tigers’ junior pee wee, pee wee, junior midget and unlimited division teams are all play this weekend for a chance to compete in the Snow Bowl as well as a chance to travel to Santa Clara, Calif., to represent the Sagebrush Empire League in regional competition.

Three of the teams play at home on Saturday at Stodick Park. The Douglas junior pee wee squad takes on South Tahoe while the pee wees play Truckee at noon, then the Tigers’ Unlimited division team plays Fernley at 2 p.m.

In another game later on Saturday, the Douglas junior midgets take on the Sparks Wolfpack at 6 p.m. at the Golden Eagle Sports Complex in Sparks.
