Douglas hosts region playoff games

Pop Warner football teams from the Bay area and Northern Nevada will oppose each other Saturday when playoff games are played at Douglas High School.

Each of the games will be semifinals involving representatives from the Bay Area’s Peninsula and Northern Nevada’s Sagebrush Empire leagues. The lineup will kick off at 8 a.m. when the Douglas Tigers Mity Mites take on Hollister, followed by a 10 a.m. Mity Mite game between the South Tahoe Vikings and South Valley. The Carson Senators and Brentwood will square off in another Mity Mite game at noon.

The Carson Senators will field teams in each of the final three games. The Senators will face Almaden in a Junior Pee Wee division game at 2 p.m., followed by a Pee Wee game at 4 p.m. with Los Gatos and a Junior Varsity game at 6 p.m. with Coastside.

Two other Douglas teams will be in action Saturday at Bishop Manogue High School in Reno. The Pee Wee Tigers will play at 9 a.m. and the Junior Pee Wee Tigers will play at 11 a.m. Both games will be played against opponents still to be determined.
