Pau-Wa-Lu eighth-graders still in first
The Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School eighth-grade boys’ basketball team continues to win games with a strong work ethic and sense of determination.
Ten games into the season, Pau-Wa-Lu sits in first place of the Tah-Neva League with nine wins and one loss.
The Panthers, who collectively have a 3.48 GPA in the classroom, still have four games left in the season with the biggest two coming at home against Eagle Valley (Dec. 8) and at Carson Valley (Dec. 13). Both squads are tied for second place with two loses apiece.
Pau-Wa-Lu’s seventh-grade team has shown marked improvement in the last week with a road win over Dayton and a competitive game against a tough Alder Creek squad.
The team has been doing a noticably better job on the defensive end of the floor and breaking opponents’ full-court presses.
With four regular-season games left, the Panthers, who boast a 3.4 team GPA, have a 2-8 record overall.
