Pack basketball to face TCU

The Nevada Wolf Pack men's basketball team will face off with the TCU Horned Frogs in the annual Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Classic on Dec. 8, it was announced Tuesday.
The Pack is coming off its second best season in program history and its first NCAA tournament appearance in a decade. Nevada went 28-7 in the 2016-17 season, while the Horned Frogs put up a 24-15 record. The Wolf Pack won the Mountain West regular season and tournament titles, entering the NCAA tournament as a No. 12 seed.
TCU was the NIT champion, defeating Georgia Tech 88-56 in the title game.
Nevada and TCU have played each other just twice in program history. TCU took both matchups in the 2000-01 season.
The classic, set to take place in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, will also feature USC against Oklahoma and Arizona State against St. John's.

Carson Strong, a 3-star quarterback from Will C. Wood High School in Vacaville, Calif. and the class of 2018, verbally committed to the Nevada football team on Tuesday, Scout.com has reported.
Strong, a 6-4, 195-pound quarterback, completed 69 percent of his passes in 2016 (184-for-266) for 2,732 yards with 26 touchdown passes and four interceptions as a junior during the 2016 season.
