Norvell to appear at Carson Valley Inn Wednesday
Nevada Wolf Pack fans will have an opportunity to meet and talk to Jay Norvell, the University of Nevada’s new head football coach, Wednesday at the Carson Valley Inn.
Doors to the Sierra Room will open at 5:45 p.m. for a meet and greet event being held as part of the Nevada Coaches’ Caravan.
Norvell, 53, will discuss the new-look offensive and defensive schemes that will be employed by the Wolf Pack coaching staff this season.
Norvell was hired as Nevada’s head coach in December after 31 seasons as an assistant coach at nine schools and two NFL teams. His resume includes recent stops at Oklahoma (co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach 2008-14), Texas (wide receivers coach 2015) and Arizona State (wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator 2016).
In December, Norvell said his Wolf Pack offense “will be a spread attack that will be very aggressive. We will be very up tempo and we will be very creative.”
After a brief presentation, Norvell will be available for questions. The Coaches’ Caravan is free and open to the public. A courtesy RSVP to Holly Aycock at 775-682-6961 is requested.
Nevada officials said that basketball coaches Eric Musselman and Amanda Levens could appear along with Norvell at the presentation if time on their schedules is available.
