Matt Garren, a 2009 Douglas High School graduate, signed a letter-of-intent this week to play football for Presentation College (Aberdeen, S.D.).

Garren just completed his sophomore season at Phoenix College, where he played linebacker. The 6-foot, 180-pound Garren is projected to play fullback and tight end for the Presentation Saints.

Presentation is a NAIA program that participates in the North Star Athletic Association (6-4 overall, 3-3 league this season).

Douglas High School has a connection to another North Star Athletic Association school, the University of Jamestown (Jamestown, N.D.), where Garrett Tenney was a first-team all-league defensive end this season. Current Douglas senior Andrew Jensen has also signed to play at Jamestown. Garren and Tenney were teammates at Douglas during the 2008 season (Garren played at 5-9, 155 pounds).
