Locals in MMA bouts at Grand Sierra

Gardnerville fighters Michael Grimes and Gio Mackey are scheduled to appear on Saturday night when the Grand Sierra Resort & Casino combines with World Fighting Championships (WFC) to present an MMA and Muay Thai event as part of the Street Vibrations in Reno.
Grimes and Mackey will both represent Northern Nevada Elite MMA on the card.
The doors open at 7 p.m. and the first fight is scheduled to start at 8.
Mackey, coming off a first-round knockout of Cody Downs last month at the Rural Rumble in Fallon, is due to take on Mike Jenkins in the third fight on the card.
Grimes, 32, is 0-1 as an amateur and returning to fight for the first time in more than a year. The 6-1, 170-pound Grimes will take on Justin Graggs from Carson City who trains with High Sierra Adrenaline.
Jose Portocarrero (3-3) will face Roman Isbell (2-1) in the WFC 10 main event.
