Little League tournament play begins
Carson Valley Little League begins postseason play this week with the Nevada District 1 Renegades and Hooligans tournaments in Reno.
Washoe Little League is hosting the District I Renegades/Hooligans tournaments which began Tuesday and will continue through Sunday. The Carson Valley Renegades play Reno Centennial today at 5 p.m. at the South Valleys Sports Complex. Carson Valley began its round robin schedule Tuesday afternoon against Reno Continental.
Meanwhile, the Carson Valley Hooligans play Carson City tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the South Valleys Sports Complex. Carson Valley opened Tuesday with a game against Reno National.
The remaining District 1 tournaments — from 10-year-olds to Junior League — are all being played at Governor’s Field in Carson City. Opening Ceremonies will be held June 25 at 3:30 p.m. at Governors Field.
Carson Valley begins play in the 12-year-old “majors” tournament on June 28 with a 7:30 p.m. game against Reno American. The winner plays again the next day (June 29) against Washoe Little League at 4:30 p.m. The majors division championship game is July 5.
In the 11-year-old tournament, Carson Valley opens on June 25 with an 8 p.m. game against Washoe. The championship game is scheduled for July 3.
In the 10-year-old tournament, Carson Valley opens June 26 with a 5:30 p.m. game against an opponent to be determined. The championship game is July 3.
The District I Junior League Tournament begins July 7 when Carson Valley plays Carson City at 7:30 p.m. The championship game is July 12.
Governor’s Field will also serve as host for Nevada’s state Little League tournament play.
