Jethro’s fundraiser draws 473

Staff Reports

A turnout of 473 people was on hand last Friday for the sixth annual Jethro’s Charity King Crab Feed & Steak Cookout.

First-year University of Nevada basketball coach Eric Musselman was the guest speaker during the event, held to benefit MEFIYI, Dias Con Cristo Retreat Organization, Welcome All Veterans Everywhere and CC Meneley Elementary School ball fields.

“We are truly thankful for our volunteers who made this a very special evening,” event coordinator JoJo Townsell said. “We are especially proud that the University of Nevada Head basketball Coach Eric Musselman, deputy athletic director Rory Hickok (1978 Douglas High graduate) and their families would take the time to support our community. It’s great to know how much Wolf Pack athletics care about Carson Valley.”

Townsell expressed his gratitude to event sponsors that have supported this event every year, including Global Gaming, The Record-Courier, Rite of Passage, Carson Valley Active 20/30 Club # 85, Model Dairy, Sierra Canopy, Country Insurance, Carson Valley Accounting, Edward D. Jones Investments, Northstar Lending, ReMax Realty and host-Jethro’s Oven & Grill.
