Homecoming game postponed because of heater malfunction
Susan Baldwin, vice principal of Douglas High School, said the Homecoming festivities, along with Friday and Saturday’s basketball games, have been postponed due to a problem with the heating system.
She said the problem is with combustion ventilation in a vent in the gym and, as a result, there is no heat in the gym.
“We’ve rescheduled some basketball games due to the fact there’s no heat in the gym,” Baldwin said.
The Friday game against Carson City has been rescheduled for Wednesday. The varsity girls will play at 5:15 p.m. and the varsity boys will start at 7 p.m.
Douglas officials will meet Monday with Wooster High School officials to reschedule the game that was was originally planned for Saturday.
The homecoming dance has not been rescheduled, but the homecoming queen will be crowned Friday, Feb. 5 at a home game against Hug High School.
