Here is a breakdown on some Carson Valley athletes who have graduated from high school and now compete in college:

DALTON GRISELL — Simpson University (Redding, Calif.), 2014 Douglas graduate: Grisell turned in a solid outing Saturday for the South Bay Storm when he pitched four scoreless innings in a 14-6 Golden State Collegiate Baseball League win over the Atwater Aviators. Grisell has been working with Jesse Rasner, a University of Nevada product who spent the 2010 season with the Baltimore Orioles organization (he prepped at Wooster High). Grisell just finished his sophomore season for Simpson University, where he went 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA, eight strikeouts and three walks allowed in 12 innings.

MARSHALL MCKOWN — Yuba College (Yuba City, Calif.), 2014 Douglas graduate: Yuba College 49ers athletics announced Wednesday on Twitter that McKown has transferred into the program from Azusa Pacific University. He will have one season of eligibility at Yuba. As a senior at Douglas, he placed second in the state meet discus with a school record throw of 173-10, and placed third in the shot put with a school record 55-7-1/2.
