Golf: Tiger golfers take 3rd
The Douglas High boys’ golf team overcame blustery conditions Monday at Rosewood Golf Course to take third place in the Sierra League tournament with a team score of 462.
Manogue (409) finished first in the team standings, followed by Galena (444), while Carson (477) was fourth and Damonte Ranch (490) finished fifth.
Mike Doyle and Max McDuffee led the Tigers, shooting 85 and 87 respectively.
“It was a brutal day with cold high winds,” Douglas coach Brent Eddy said. “The kids showed their toughness by enduring the elements.
“The scores were all higher because of the conditions.”
Zander Ghan shot a 95, Shane Pyle shot a 97, Emanuel Montoya shot a 98 and Jake
Mariani came in at 106.
Douglas is the tournament host next week at Genoa Lakes.
