Damonte built a 36-0 lead after the first quarter on its way to a 71-14 win over The Tigers. The Mustangs improved to 9-0 and 4-0 in the Sierra League while Douglas fell to 4-4 and 2-2.

The Mustangs scored twice in the first two minutes of the game. Quarterback Cade McNamara, who has committed to Michigan, completed an 80-yard touchdown pass. Then after a long punt return, Derrick Knoblock scored on a 10-yard run and the Mustangs added the two point-coversion for a 15-0 lead.

Weidner completed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Josh Hartman and Chris Flores added the extra point to pull Douglas to within 36-7 in the second quarter. Damonte went on to take a 50-7 lead at halftime as McNamara threw four touchdown passes.

The Tigers’ other score came on a 25-yard pass from Weidner to Cameron Swain.
