Douglas lacrosse hosts games, fundraiser

Staff Reports

The Douglas girls lacrosse team will wrap up its inaugural season with a busy weekend by hosting two games as well as two fundraisers today and Saturday.

First, Douglas will play Truckee in a High Sierra Lacrosse League game today at 5 p.m. on the Gardnerville Elementary School field. On Saturday, Douglas will take on Coyote (representing Northwest Reno) in its Senior Day contest at 10 a.m. at GES.

Also on Saturday, the team will be part of a fundraiser at Yogurt Beach, located on Waterloo Lane next to Lampe Park from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A percentage of proceeds from sales of yogurt will be donated to the non-profit Douglas lacrosse club — customers need only to say they are supporting Douglas girls lacrosse when purchasing their dessert. In conjunction with the fundraiser on Saturday, the lacrosse club will hold a car wash in the parking lot of Yogurt Beach from noon to 3 p.m.

Douglas is coming off a 13-12 overtime win last Saturday at home against Spanish Springs.
