With just 11 seconds remaining on the game clock, Giesler passed over to Van Bruggen, who scored on a long wrist shot to give the Tigers the winning goal.

In their second game against the Wooster colts, Douglas coasted to a 19-5 victory. Hines led all Tiger scorers with eight goals. Van Bruggen added six goals to the Tiger tally. Davis had a hat trick, scoring three goals. Shupe also scored three points, assisting on three Tiger goals.

Due to a couple of absent varsity players, JV sophomore Paul Mileo was called up for the doubleheader, adding some additional strength to the varsity squad.
