Douglas girls to visit South Tahoe Friday

The Douglas High girls basketball team returns to action Friday night with a nonleague game at South Tahoe.

Douglas dropped three straight games to out-of-state opponents this past weekend at the High Sierra Winter Classic in Reno and Sparks.

The Tigers played their home opener Tuesday, a Northern 4A crossover game against North Valleys (results were unavailable at press time).

Heritage (Littleton, Colo.) defeated Douglas on Saturday, 30-15.

The Eagles led 12-3 after one quarter.

Hailey Cechini led the Eagles with eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

The Tigers opened with a 62-20 loss against St. Ignatius (San Francisco) on Thursday and came back on Friday to drop a 46-28 decision against Lassen (Susanville, Calif.). The Lassen Grizzlies led 25-14 at halftime.

South Tahoe went 1-2 at the High Sierra Winter Classic, with a 46-32 win over Incline. The Vikings dropped closely contested games against Galena (47-40) and Carson (41-33).
