Another NFR top-10 ride for Wyatt Denny

Minden bareback rider Wyatt Denny turned in another top-10 performance Monday night at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

Denny, 21, who is making his first NFR appearance, rode to a sixth-place tie with a score of 84.50 in Round 5 at Thomas & Mack Center. Denny turned in a big performance on Sunday when he posted a score of 87.00 aboard J Bar J that was good for a second-place tie with Tim O’Connell. Jake Vold of Ponoka, Alberta led the round with his 89.50.

On Thursday, Denny was first out of the chute and finished fourth in Round 1. The Carson Valley cowboy encountered misfortune on Friday when his rigging came loose which resulted in no score. He came back on Saturday with a score of 79.5 that was good for ninth.

With his ride on Monday, Denny stood in 10th-place in the world bareback standings.

The NFR continues through Dec. 10 at Thomas & Mack Center.
