Cross Country: Tigers, Falcons compete at Reed
Coming into the final stretch of the high school cross country season, the Douglas High runners made a statement at the Reed Invitational on Friday.
Freshman Lindsey Adams won the 5K girls’ race with a time of 19:42 while senior Sadie Gastelum was third (20:22).
Senior Andrew Cobourn finished second in the boys race with a time of 16:48 and freshman Brandon Pankey was ninth at 18:21.
Sierra Lutheran’s Luke Barulich was 15th in the race (18:37) and Douglas’ Cole Peck was 16th at 18:41.
Also for the Tigers, Jeff Williams was 25th (19:19), Lane Smith took 26th (19:22), Josh Cassity was 30th (19:34) and Tanner DeGiovanni was 38th (20:18).
Sierra Lutheran’s Donovan Harrison took 21st (18:58), John McRae was 22nd (19:01) and Wyatt Hicks was 41st (20:28).
In the JV race, Douglas’ Kylie Flannagan took 13th among the girls (24:19), Sierra Lutheran’s Sierra Stulac was 17th (24:40), Douglas’ Stacy Waggoner was 24th (25:12), Sierra Lutheran’s Alesha Martinez was 38th (26:25), Abby Williams was 45th (26:58), Douglas’ Marlena Ford was 51st (28:17), Geneses Diaz was 52nd (28:23), Taryn Morningstar was 57th (29:10), Kelsey Hubbard was 58th (29:21) and Phoebe Hamilton was 70th (33:15).
On the boys’ side, Douglas’ Parker Dixon was seventh (19:52), Logan Peterson was 10th (19:59), Daniel Lampson was 12th (20:06), Jaden Wass ran a 20:37, Zak Sherback ran a 20:38, JD Votel ran 21:40, Austin Croxal ran a 22:08, Connor Lyman ran a 23:04, Cody Taylor ran 23:34, Braden Hudnall ran 23:54, Rim Peterson ran 25:18 and Jimmy Rich ran 26:34.
The remainder of Sierra Lutheran’s roster attended the Clovis Invitational in California on Saturday.
Becky Grabow took eighth in the girls’ race (19:24) and Erin Henry was 66th with a time of 21:01.
Nathanael Williams took 17th in the Championship Boys Race with a time of 15:47.
