Coleville comes back to defeat McDermitt
The Coleville Wolves bounced back from a 14-12 first-quarter deficit to score three unanswered touchdowns in the second and take a 48-30 victory over McDermitt Friday in Northern 1A action.
“I was happy with our overall performance and was especially happy with the play of our younger players,” Coleville coach Will Sandy said.
Junior quarterback Travis Babbitt three three touchdown passes in the second quarter and had 127 yards passing with no interceptions in the game.
Matt Shaw caught two touchdown passes and rushed for a third score. he ended the day with 83 yards receiving and 69 yards rushing.
Adam Reigle led the Wolves with 120 yards rushing and two touchdowns, one on a 38-yard pass reception.
Andrew Robinson also had a fine offensive performance rushing for 60 yards and scoring one rushing touchdown.
Shaw had a team-high 17 tackles and Babbitt had two solos and 10 assists. Sean Kaiser added five solos and seven assists and Eddie Brewer had two solos and eight assists. Reigle had 10 assists as well.
Freshmen Trevor Anderson and Carlos Hernandez played especially well for Coleville. The Wolves enter league play next Saturday, hosting rival Smith Valley at 1 p.m.
