Carson runners win at Tah-Neva League cross country

Carson Valley Middle School’s Elliott McPeek ran to first-place in the 7th grade boys race and Cody Lamb second-place in the 8th grade boys race at the Tah-Neva League Cross Country Championships in Carson City on Friday, Oct. 20.

McPeek won his race in a time of 11 minutes, 24 seconds over a challenging and hilly 1.8-mile course at Centennial Park. He finished six seconds ahead of Carson’s Adam Houghton.

McPeek’s effort helped the Carson Valley Cubs finish fifth in the team standings with 124 points.

In the 8th grade boys race, Lamb and Chase Cohee placed second and fourth to pace Carson Valley to a fourth-place finish as a team. Lamb ran 15:20 over the 2.25-mile course, 11 seconds behind Doug Holderman of Carson, and Cohee ran 15:23.

Holderman won the 8th grade boys race for Eagle Valley Middle School with a time of 15 minutes, 9 seconds over the challenging 2.25-mile course, 11 seconds ahead of Carson Valley’s Cody Lamb.

David Sturgess also finished 14th in the 7th grade boys race with a time of 12:32.
