Carson City Kiwanis Club hosts pancreatic cancer fundraiser
Three sports — golf, running and power lifting — will be featured on Sept. 16 when the Carson City Kiwanis Club presents its fourth annual Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Golf Tournament at Silver Oak Golf Course.
In addition to the golf tournament, a four-person scramble scheduled for a 9 a.m. start at Silver Oak in Carson City, a 5K fun run is set for 8 a.m. and the Carson City Bench Press Championships from 7-9 a.m.
The golf tournament fee is $90 per player, which includes range balls as well as lunch and prizes. Lunch tickets for guests can be purchased for $10. Hole sponsorships are available for $100.
The 5K registration is $30 and $10 for kids 12-and-under. Registration for the bench press event is $10 for three lifts, which a variety of categories available.
Proceeds benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network as well as the Carson City Kiwanis scholarship fund.
Men’s, women’s and mixed flights are being offered. Those same three flights are also being offered in a senior division for men and women 55 years of age and over.
Long drive contests will be offered in each flight, as well as closest-to-the-hole. Putting tape and mulligans will also be on sale.
A pre-registration and pairing party will be held the night before, on Sept. 15, at the Silver Oak club house.
