The R-C Morning Report for March 2

by Kurt Hildebrand khildebrand@recordcourier.com

Genoa, Nev. — Under the proposed five-year transportation plan there's going to be a lot of roadwork next summer, including Mottsville and Centerville lanes. Jacks Valley Road has been moved up for next summer as well. County commissioners will discuss the five-year-transportation plan at their meeting in Minden 1 p.m. today at the historic Douglas County Courthouse.

Chains or snow tires are required on Highway 50 from the Douglas County line to Shakespeare Point at Lake Tahoe. That's the last road control in Western Nevada.

A moderate winter storm is forecast to arrive Saturday night and last through Sunday morning. While a big wind producer, there's not expected to be a lot of precipitation.
