A fire in Indian Hills on Monday evening was caused when a pile of wet weeds spontaneously combusted. Capt. Terry Taylor said the fire was extinguished just before the winds got to it and blew it out of control.
A helicopter was disabled Sunday afternoon on a field near Muller and Foothill after its tail rotor hit a fence on landing according to the Federal Aviation Administration. No one was hurt, but the helicopter received substantial damage.
If we're going to see thunderstorms then today's the day. The forecast calls for scattered showers and thunderstorms increasing as the day wears on. The high today should hit 85 degrees.
