Kurt Hildebrand/Nevada Appeal The Carson River in Dayton is part of a 50-mile stretch between Carson City and Lahontan Reservoir contaminated with mercury - a historic remnant of the Comstock mining era. This stretch is Nevada's only Superfund site.
