USS Nevada is subject of museum lecture
The Douglas County Historical Society’s lecture of the month features a discussion of the USS Nevada by Bob Nylen, 7 p.m. Feb. 10, at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville.
Nylen is curator of history at the Nevada State Museum in Carson City, who has researched, written and lectured about Nevada’s history for 30 years. He began working for the Nevada Historical Society in 1976, and has worked at the museum curating exhibits for 27 years.
The Douglas County Historical Society hosts lectures on the first Thursday of the month at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Admission is $3, or free for historical society members. Information, 782-2555 or http://www.historicnevada.org
