Thanks to Project Santa donors

Dave Nelson
Project Santa Claus director

This is a heartfelt thank-you to all the movers and shakers in this community that make Project Santa Claus possible.

This year we served 803 children overall. We just wanted to say we couldn’t do what we do, without all of you.

n Three local companies provided lunch for the volunteers: Dairy Queen in North Minden, McDonald’s in Minden and Costco near Carson City.

n The Carson Valley Medical Center hosted a month-long bike helmet drive and we received 15 helmets from Beta Sigma Phi.

n Financial donations: United Methodist Women, Seven and Margaret Ristorcelli, James Joseph, Jethro’s Oven and Grille, J. Michael Murphy, Glen and Susan Southwick, Jon and Rebekah Hannan, Donald L. Cooper, Bill W. Johnson, James R. Marshall, Douglas Disposal, Inc., Carson Valley Sertoma, Heritage Bank of Nevada, Bette N. Murphy, Tahoe-Douglas Elks Lodge No. 2670, Carolyn Shinn, P. A. Lane, C. Champnes, Gayle Boren, Andrew and Rosemary Chisari, Edwin and Jacqueline Vallier, Rosalie J. Brown, Affordable Billing, Topaz Sage Hens, Michael and Suzanne Rowe, Jack and Denise Sievers, Tom and Diedre Whear, Kathleen O’connell, Re/Max Realty Affiliates’ John Fisher, George M. Keele, Sierra Motel Inc., Bette and Earl Christensen and Carson Valley Realty.

Book Chairman Dorothy Foster received donations from families and companies all over the valley. We were very concerned about the closure of Borders – our largest book donor in previous years, but people from all over pitched in to fill the gap.
