Thanks so much for your kindness and support
Our valley is filled with kind and caring people. I am always touched by the community’s response when one of our members is experiencing a hardship, such as an illness, injury or loss. The outpouring of love and generosity is simply overwhelming. My family and I would help when and how we could, and it was a wonderful feeling to reach out to those in need. Recently, I found myself and my family on the other side of the spectrum after my husband Jim passed away in February. So many people embraced us, prayed for us, brought us meals, and gave their heartfelt love and support. And for that, we are incredibly thankful. I don’t know how we would get through this difficult time without that selfless love and support. I would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who has been there for us. Please forgive me if I’ve left anyone out. Thank you to Pastor Pete for being with us from the very beginning to the very end with your strength and guidance. Thank you to the emergency responders, some who were there on more than one occasion, for your compassion. Thank you to the ER staff at Carson Valley Medical Center, especially Mary S. and the CICU staff at Renown, who treated both Jim and the family with the utmost kindness and professionalism. Thank you to our Carson Valley United Methodist Church family for the hugs, meals, prayers, and ongoing support. Thank you to Gary at FitzHenry’s for your gentle courtesy and professionalism. Thank you to SlotWorld and Walmart for showing us consideration for our jobs, and to all our coworkers and customers who are there for us to lean on. Thank you to St. Mary’s Hospice (Valeri, Ellen, Maureen, Michelle, Jim, Carolyn). Although it was a short time, Valeri and Ellen continue to be there to support us. Thank you to the Douglas Center for Hope and Healing for a safe place to express our grief with others who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Thank you to Pat, Len, Gail and Mike for always going the extra mile and for caring so much about our family. We have lived in a few different communities as a family, but none holds a candle to the amazing net of love and support that our Carson Valley neighbors offer to one another. We are surrounded, not only by the beauty of the mountains, but also the beauty of the people who make this place special.
