Thanks for the support

On behalf of the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, I’d like to say ‘Thank you’ to all of those responsible for the very successful 13th edition of the Business Showcase. I will start with our sponsors; Frontier Communications, The Record Courier, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, East Fork Fire & Paramedic District, Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare and Pizza Hut. Their participation insures that the largest trade show in the Carson Valley gets better each year.

I’d also like to thank the more than 75 businesses and organizations that invested their time, energy and resources to exhibit at the event. They demonstrated the vibrancy that is at the core of the Carson Valley business community and their commitment to the community and to thinking ‘Local First’.

Special thanks to Captain David Aymami and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the East Fork Fire & Paramedic Districts for their willingness to devote their staff time and energy to reach out to the community they serve so well and to Gary Dove and the Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley for doing the heavy lifting to transform the Fairgrounds Pavilion. Thanks also to Careflight, who treated event goers to an up close look at one of their helicopters.

Chamber staff and the Chamber Ambassadors put many hours into the planning and organizing of the Showcase. Specifically, Sheila Byington, Kathi Rittenhouse, Carrie Nicolaisen, Ted Thran, Mark Smith, Ella Wilson and bartenders extraordinaire Marie Culpepper and Byron Waite were invaluable in making it happen.

Most importantly, I’d like to thank over 1000 members of the community who joined 200 representatives of the exhibitors at the event. We say it every year; the event is not worth doing if the community doesn’t support it, and your turnout says that you think the Showcase is worth your valuable time.

Again, on behalf of the Staff and Board of Directors of the Chamber, thank you and we’ll see you next year!
