Carson Valley Little League recently hosted the Nevada State All-Star tournament for all levels of Little League baseball. Sixteen teams competed in a double-elimination tournament at Lampe Park. By all accounts the tournament was a huge success.
It takes many hands donating many hours to carry off such an event. I would like to thank many of those who made my job much easier: Charlie and Leslie Barone, Bruce and Debbie Jacobsen, Paul and Traci Isherwood, Cary and Nonie Olson, Phil and Leann Emm, Cary and Nonie Olson, Denny and Melanie Doyal, Lee Bertucci, Denise Rudnick and Jeannie Goldston. The field crews headed by Rocky Walling and T C Estes did a phenomenal job keeping the fields in perfect playing condition.
A special thanks to Rick and Karen Stiver and “Uncle John” from Grandma Hatties, for helping us feed all of the players and their families.
Carson Valley Little League is fortunate to play in Douglas County; we have beautiful fields kept in shape by the park employees who also go out of their way to make all of our playing experiences positive. A huge thank-you to Craig Burnside, Peter Knight, Jim Anderson and Archie Wood for always being there to lend a helping hand, we couldn’t have done it without you!
Carson Valley’s players and parents have long been recognized for good sportsmanship and generous consideration toward our fellow ball players from the southern parts of Nevada. Again this year (with only a very few exceptions) you did us proud.
Lastly, a big thank-you to all of the players who put on such a great show for us!
