Snow White in a Stetson

Staff Reports

Tickets go on sale Monday for Carson Valley Community Theatre’s production of “Snow White Goes West.”

Set during the California Gold Rush, this rambunctious tongue-in-cheek retelling of the timeless classic pits the hapless heroine against an ill-tempered saloon hall owner named Queenie and her assistant Sneaky Sam.

In true fairy tale fashion, all ends well, thanks to handsome marshal Joe Prince and the seven prospecting Dwarf Brothers.

Featured in the lead role of Snow White is Riley Cooper. Robert Miller plays Joe Prince, Margaret Edson has the role of Queenie, and Linda Diego cavorts about as the villainous Sneaky Sam. The Dwarf Brothers are played by Mike Trute, Mike Murphy, Al Mellon, Carol Schirlls, Leah Walters, Wayne Walters, and Diana Borges. Other supporting cast members are Wayne Walters and Chandon Robiscotti, and narrated by veteran actor Jim Dezurga. The musical comedy is directed by Norris Edson assisted by Sue Kinney as musical director and Carol Schwartz as choreographer.

Edson said he would like to thank Sharkey’s for allowing the use of their upstairs banquet room for rehearsals.

The show opens March 23 in the CVIC Hall in Minden and continues weekends through April 1.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets cost $17 regular and $14 seniors and students.

A dinner and show package will also be offered for $50 by Minden Food Company. Tickets are available at the CVCT box office, located in the Copeland Cultural Arts Center in Minden.

The box office is open noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday until March 10. Tickets are available by calling 292-0939 or at
