‘Sleeping Beauty’ awakes Friday night

Staff Reports

Theatre of Arts Discipline’s production of Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty” opens Friday.

It’s princess Aurora’s 16th birthday, and Flora, Fauna and Merryweather must use their fairy magic to save her from the spell of evil sorceress Maleficent.

Songs from the film, including “Once Upon a Dream,” accompany new songs such as “Maleficent” and “A Little Magic Now” to bring a fresh telling of the story to a new generation of children and families.

Featuring Carson Valley youth, “Sleeping Beauty” is directed by Rich Garrett, musically directed by Brynn Garrett and choreographed by Braeden Garrett.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students/seniors and $5 for children 11 and under.

Showtimes for Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty” are 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday, March 9 and 10, and 2 p.m. Sunday and March 11 at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School.

House opens 30 minutes before show time.
