‘Same Time Next Year’ opens Friday
The Dakota Organization will produce Bernard Slade’s “Same Time Next Year,” a romantic comedy about George and Doris who have been meeting every year for the last 26 years even though they are married to other people.
Performances are scheduled at the CVIC Hall in Minden, Feb. 24, 25 and March 4 at 7 p.m. with a matinee performance March 5 at 2 p.m.
The premise is simple: a man and a woman happen to meet at a romantic Pacific coast inn in the 1950s, spend a night together and discover that they’re both married – with children. How do they deal with it? After getting past the initial shock and guilt, they agree to meet every year, same weekend, same place. The audience is allowed to observe every fifth meeting in the same room.
Teri Lynn plays the role of Doris and Jody Paslov, the role of George.
Tickets are $15, $10 for seniors. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. For tickets, call 790-1628.
The Dakota Organization is a new theater organization in the Carson Valley, with six productions scheduled in 2006-2007.
