Retired Public Employees Association to meet in Carson

The Retired Public Employees Association of California Silver and Gold chapter 95 will meet Monday, Feb. 19, 11:30 a.m., Grandma Hattie’s, 2811 S. Carson St., Carson City (entrance on the south side of the building).

The group will order from the menu and no reservations are required.

Guest speaker will be Ken Sorensen, a member of the Senior Nevada Advocates on Guard, a group of volunteer retired professionals investigating Medicare fraud. The groups works with the Attorney General’s office.

Sorensen is retired from the Menlo Park Police Department in California after 31 years, 16 of them as a lieutenant commander of the homicide and fraud investigative division.

All retirees who receive their pension or health benefits from the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), such as state, public agency and classified school employees, are invited.
