When Cuba lost access to Soviet oil in the 1990s the country faced the crisis of how to feed its people. The film tells of the Cubans’ hardship, ingenuity and triumph over adversity through cooperation, conservation, and community. It’s something to consider in a world of declining oil production and increased demand.
The Sustainable Living and Renewable Energy Roundup educational nonprofit organization hosts the fifth annual Green Living Festival at Lampe Park on Sept. 10. Exhibitors are encouraged to sign up before Earth Day, April 22, to save $50 on booth fees. Information, http://www.greenlivingfest.org
