November 27, 1891

H.F. Dangberg favored the children at the orphan’s home with twenty-five boxes of apples for Thanksgiving. This is a gift worth while and one that is appreciated by the children at the home.

95 years ago

December 1, 1916

The Standard Oil company has purchased an acre of land at Carson and will shortly commence the erection of storage tanks from which distribution will be made to Virginia City, Minden, and Gardnerville, two auto trucks to be used for the work.

80 years ago

November 27, 1931

A Chevrolet car, driven by two highway bureau men skidded and turned over late Saturday night at a point near Mountain House. Both men were badly shaken up and suffered some cuts and bruises. One was pinned under the wrecked car requiring help to extract him from the entanglement.

50 years ago

November 30, 1961

Mrs. Melvin Springmeyer and Mrs. Minnie Jensen have completed a two-month course in real estate appraising at the University of Nevada. Bryce Leggett, M.I.A., directed the course.

November 27, 1986

Puppeteers to give life to special programs to benefit school children. Requires two hours a week. No experience necessary, will train. No pay, but benefits immeasurable.
